Cholesterol & Heart Protection Study
About This Study
We are conducting a research study to learn more about a medication called inclisiran and how it may help people who have heart or blood vessel disease. The goal of this study is to see if inclisiran can reduce the risk of future heart problems, strokes, or issues with blood flow in the legs after certain medical procedures to open blocked arteries.
Inclisiran is already FDA-approved as an injection given just twice a year to help lower “bad” cholesterol (LDL-C). This study will test if it can provide additional benefits for people who have recently had a procedure to restore blood flow in the heart or legs.
Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either inclisiran or a placebo.
Neither you nor the study team will know which one you are receiving during the study.
The first dose will be given shortly after your procedure (or within 2 weeks). After that, doses are given every 6 months.
Everyone in the study will continue to receive their regular medical care.
Study duration: The study will last about 3 to 4 years, depending on when enough information is collected.
Why join? By joining this study, you may help researchers discover new ways to protect people with heart and blood vessel disease from future serious health problems. You will also receive study-related medical care from our experienced team at no cost.
